What I build

Most of my professional work lives in private repositories under NDA. What follows is the shape of it: the domains, the results that can be stated, and the path that got here.

domain::cnc [C++ / C# / geometry]

CNC & CAD/CAM

Machining logic for 3, 4 and 5-axis machines: toolpath design and optimisation, ISO post-processors, kinematics, angle computation and machine simulation. The measurable side of the job — cycle time, idle movement, collisions that never happen.

domain::hmi [Win32 / Win64 / Qt]

HMI systems

Interfaces for industrial machinery, from architecture to the last pixel an operator touches. Includes the unglamorous half: keeping a decade-old HMI codebase alive while modernising it underneath.

domain::legacy [refactoring]

Legacy modernisation

Long-lived C++/C# codebases that still ship. Restructuring without a rewrite, adding tests where there were none, and cutting the feedback loop — the HMI test suite went down by roughly 60%.

domain::ai [LLM / ML]

Applied industrial AI

LLM-based assistants for machine troubleshooting, ML prototypes for diagnostics and pattern analysis, agent workflows for engineering tasks — built with evaluation and failure boundaries, not vibes.

Teaching & mentoring

C++, C# and Python for the "Mechatronics for Business" programme, plus mentoring on Git, computational geometry, machine learning and CNC/HMI architecture.

Documentary photography

Fourteen years photographing the Meeting in Rimini and a decade of wedding reportage. Different craft, same discipline: composition is a form of engineering.

Industrial AI and software development for CNC machinery. HMI systems, CAD/CAM software, ISO post-processors and machining logic for 3, 4 and 5-axis machines.

Cut HMI test execution time by roughly 60% through test re-engineering.
Removed roughly 10% of non-cutting toolpath movement on 3/4/5-axis machines.
Two registered software patents from this work, one still under NDA.
Built LLM-based assistants and ML prototypes for machine troubleshooting.
Modernised long-lived C++/C#/Win32/Win64 HMI codebases.
