Privacy & cookies
This site is static HTML. The only thing that can set a cookie is Google Analytics, and it does not run until you say yes.
What happens before you choose
Nothing. Google Consent Mode starts with every category denied, and the Analytics script is not even added to the page until you accept. If you reject, or simply ignore the banner, your browser never contacts Google and no cookie is written. The site behaves identically either way.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, that counts as a rejection and the banner is not shown at all.
If you accept
Google Analytics 4 (property G-5FV7DV5P8D) records which pages are
visited, roughly where from, and which device — so I can tell whether writing any of
this was worth it. IP addresses are truncated before storage. There is no advertising,
no remarketing, no profiling and no data sold or shared for those purposes. Google acts
as data processor and may transfer data outside the EU under its standard contractual
clauses.
Cookies set in that case:
_ga— distinguishes browsers, expires after 2 years._ga_5FV7DV5P8D— keeps session state, expires after 2 years.
Your choice itself is kept in localStorage under db-consent,
in your browser only. It is not a cookie and it never reaches a server.
Change your mind
You can withdraw or give consent at any time, as easily as you gave it.
Other third parties
Web fonts come from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests them from Google's servers and Google sees your IP address. That happens without consent because the fonts are needed to render the page; no cookie is involved. Links to GitHub, LinkedIn and other sites take you to services with their own policies.
Server logs
The web server keeps standard access logs — IP address, timestamp, requested page, user agent — for security and troubleshooting. They rotate automatically and are not used to build any profile.
If you write to denis@denisbilli.it, the message and your address are kept for as long as the conversation is useful, and used for nothing else.
