notes

The Rimini Meeting (the Meeting for Friendship Among Peoples) relies on around fifty volunteer photographers for one week every August. Most of their questions repeat: where a venue is, how to deliver photos, who to contact. MIA answers them in the chat, at any hour.

It answers from a knowledge base written and kept up to date for it, not by searching the web. It also has clear instructions on what not to say: the organisation's internal data stays out of its answers, even if it has ended up in a dataset.

During the 2026 edition it handled 168 conversations and 345 questions, for about 8 dollars of model usage. Afterwards I read every question by hand: where something was missing I fixed the knowledge base instead of patching the prompt.

MIA runs on Agents Depot, a multi-tenant platform I am building for this kind of assistant: one place for agents, their knowledge bases and datasets, and an embeddable chat widget.
