AI27.org starts from the two scenarios described in AI 2027 and tries to answer a concrete question: which of the two are we heading towards? The answer is an index that changes with the news.
Every hour it reads 14 international technology, defence and policy feeds. A small, cheap model discards what is irrelevant; a stronger one files each remaining article under one of seven dimensions with an impact score. The indices are snapshotted daily, and older news loses weight over time.
The method is public, weights included, so anyone can check the number and challenge it. The data is open too: a read-only JSON API with no key, under CC BY 4.0, with a day-by-day history from October 2025.
